The Paramus Board of Education is comprised of elected individuals who freely dedicate their time and energy to serving our school community. Our board members know that the students should always come first, and they make every decision with our students’ best interests in mind.

William F Holzmann
President
Biography

About William F Holzmann

Bill has been a resident of Paramus since 1995 when he and his wife, Michelle, chose Paramus to start their family. Michelle and Bill have four children, all of whom have benefitted from a Paramus Public School education. He has been a member of the Paramus Board of Education since 2011 and was elected to serve as board president for 2017. Previously, Bill has served the district as board vice president, chairman of the finance and budget committee, and member of the employee relations/negotiations committee. He is currently a board member for the Greater Paramus Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation, a member of the New Jersey 38th Legislative District Public Education Advisory Committee, and treasurer of Northern New Jersey Mensa. Bill has also served Paramus as a former recreation commissioner and a coach for baseball, softball, soccer, and basketball for over 25 seasons. Professionally, Bill is the vice president and assistant treasurer of operations for Becton, Dickinson and Company, a $12 billion global medical technology company based in Franklin Lakes, NJ. He has a bachelor of science degree in finance and an MBA, both from Seton Hall University. Bill holds a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation from the Association of Financial Professionals (AFP) and is a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt.

Bernadette McCausland

About Bernadette McCausland

Bernadette McCausland is thrilled to serve as Vice President on the Paramus Board of Education. She prepared for this responsibility by serving in various volunteer positions prior to running for the board of education. As a resident of Paramus for more than 50 years, she is happy to give her time to ensure that the public schools are well run. After graduating Paramus High School, she earned her B.S. in accounting from Pennsylvania State University. She returned to raise her family with her husband, Edward, so that their four children could attend the Paramus public school system. As a former Corporate Controller, she brings her financial work experience to the board. She volunteers with and has held positions on the executive boards of three different school PTAs and currently spends her free time volunteering for many different community organizations.

Joanne Bergmann

About Joanne Bergmann

My husband Artie and I are lifelong residents of Paramus. We are the parents of three children, all graduates of the Paramus Public Schools. We are also the grandparents of five grandchildren. Two of our grandsons graduated from Paramus High School, and one granddaughter is currently attending East Brook Middle School. In my professional life, I joined what would become a publicly traded finance company as its legal department manager. Eventually, I became Vice President of the Legal Department, managing an attorney network across the country and overseeing litigation matters for the firm. I have been a long-term trustee of the Paramus Board of Education serving four years as its president. During my tenure on the board, I was the proud recipient of the prestigious Archie F. Hay Award and honored by Bergen County School Boards as “Board Member of the Year.” I have also volunteered my time and served on various school-related and civic organizations including the Paramus Community Alliance that is dedicated to the prevention of drug and alcohol abuse among our youth and community; Stigma Free, a community effort to promote awareness of mental health issues with the goal of taking the stigma out of mental illness; and Operation Goody Bag, a youth-based organization that provides “goody bags” filled with treats and positive messages to our servicemen and women along with first responders. As a board trustee, I take great pride in my continued support of the many educational programs and activities that inspire our children to focus on positive involvement and educational growth.

Melissa Caminiti

About Melissa Caminiti

Melissa grew up in Paramus, where she attended Parkway, West Brook, and Paramus High School, graduating in 1987. Her 9-year-old daughter currently attends Parkway and loves keeping Mom busy with her involvement in several sports, as well as Girl Scouts. In 1991, Melissa earned a BA in Psychology from Trenton State College (now known as The College of New Jersey). She is an employee of the County of Bergen, where she is also very active in various cultural and educational groups and events. Melissa is currently the Finance/Budget Chairperson of the Board, and also serves on the Community Relations and Athletics Committees.

Lisa Cassesa

About Lisa Cassesa

Lisa is a freelance graphic and website designer. She graduated from Villanova University with a major in communications. Lisa joined the board in 2017. Prior to that, she held the position of PTA president at both Stony Lane Elementary School and West Brook Middle School. Lisa is a volunteer coach for multiple town sports. She has two children, who both attend Paramus public schools. Her husband, Jason, is a Hoboken Fire Battalion Chief.

Alison Donoghue

About Alison Donoghue

Alison is a school social worker for the River Dell Regional School District, recently moving into this position after 15 years as a Special Education Transition Coordinator in the same district. She is President of the Paramus Lacrosse Association and serves as a volunteer coach with Paramus Recreation. Alison and her husband, Thomas, have three children, all of whom attend the Paramus Public Schools.

Elisa Giblin

About Elisa Giblin

Elisa Giblin is a graduate of William Paterson University and recently retired after thirty nine years as a school teacher. After beginning her career as a teacher in another district, Mrs. Giblin transferred to Paramus where she taught for twenty-five years. She is married to Brian Giblin, Esq., a lifelong resident of Paramus, and their two children were educated in the district. Mrs. Giblin, together with her colleagues, applied for and received numerous grants for the Paramus school system, including Geraldine Dodge Foundation and Dream Grants. During her tenure in Paramus, Mrs. Giblin, in collaboration with administrators and colleagues, developed curriculum and helped create and implement Professional Learning Communities. She is the recipient of Teacher of the Year award, in recognition of her dedication and effectiveness.

Patricia Kim

Biography

About Patricia Kim

Patricia Kim, along with her husband, Anthony Ricchiuti, and two children, Ellary and Syler, have lived in Paramus for five years. Patricia graduated from William Paterson University with a BA in sociology and holds a teaching certification for Elementary Education. She later attended New Jersey City University where she received a master's in school counseling. Patricia has served and advocated for the educational needs of children for 18 years in the Newark Public School System. She began the first 11 years of her profession as a teacher educating students in grades second, third, and kindergarten. Patricia has spent the last seven years as a school counselor and HIB specialist, advocating for children in grades PreK3 to Grade 8. She is also extremely active in the community as she currently holds a position on the Paramus Pool Commission and volunteers time coaching for Paramus Recreation where she is also a co-president of Paramus Recreation Cheer. Being active in her children's lives as well as her community has always been a priority as being involved strengthens our relationships and sense of community. Leveraging one's talents and skills to make a positive difference in the community is what she hopes to achieve through her tenure as a trustee.
