Paramus Community School for Adults & Youth

The Paramus Community school is a hidden gem that provides courses designed to promote educational, recreational, physical well-being, and cultural activities for adults and children. The Paramus Community School promotes the Paramus Board of Education’s mission; to develop all students as open-minded, life-long learners who pursue their dreams and add value to the world.

Classes include interesting topics such as: computers, cooking, creative arts, enrichment, fitness/health and wellness, finances, music, chess, robotics, sports, and a multitude of special interest classes including tickets to sports games. Classes are Monday through Friday at various Paramus Public Schools.

Community School Administration

The Paramus Board of Education has appointed a supervisor for the adult and youth classes. The Paramus Community School provides the administrative and operational expenses of the program in its annual budget.

Payments are made in the form of a check, credit card (Discover, MasterCard, Visa), or money order, no cash payments. An appeal to administration may be granted and cash will be accepted due to specific circumstances.


Absolutely no refunds or credits for any reason two days before class begins or after the first meeting of class.

If there is low enrollment two business days prior to the class start date, the Paramus Community School will cancel class and provide you with a full refund in the form of payment you made. If you paid with a check, please allow four to eight weeks for your refund check.

If a student requests to cancel class, this must be done at least three days before the start date of class. We will provide a refund minus a $25.00 processing fee.

The Paramus Community School does not prorate or provide a make-up class for late registration or a missed session. Payments must be in the form of a check, credit card, or money order. No cash payments. You may make an appeal to administration and we may accept cash due to specific circumstances.

Cancellation of Class Due to Weather or Emergency

In case of inclement weather or an emergency, visit our webpage or call (201) 261-7800 Ext. 3038. If class is cancelled due to inclement weather or an emergency, we will make-up the missed session as long as we are able to secure a classroom. If the community school along with the instructor is not able to make-up the missed session, class will not be rescheduled and we will not provide a refund for the class session.
