Announcements for Monday, May 20 ^th .     Day 2 of our education cycle.  

Meetings, News, Events and Items of Interest for Today:

-          Attention Juniors, Sophomores and Freshmen:   this is a final reminder for you to return your SIGNED course selection sheet to guidance for next year and to return your AP contract to take an AP course next year as well.   Please act today.

-          Attention Seniors:   in order for guidance to send your final transcript, your school counselor MUST know your final college decision.   All Seniors MUST complete the graduation survey in Naviance.   Please do so as soon as possible.

-          Attention Juniors:   the time has come for your graduation photographs to be taken:   these pictures are also used in the Yearbook.   The scheduled times are posted outside of room 815 and in the hallway across from guidance, room 412.   Please check out this list, and if you are aware of a conflict, you must speak with Ms. Sarnoski immediately.   Please don’t delay!

-          There are only 26 days left until the first-ever Relay-For-Life in Paramus !   This overnight American Cancer Society walk is scheduled for June 14 ^th and 15 ^th from 5PM to 7AM the next morning.   Show your Relay spirit, and your desire to help the fight against cancer by dedicating a Luminaria bag in memory of a cancer victim, to celebrate a cancer survivor or to honor an on-going fight against the disease.   Luminaria are on sale for only $10 and can be obtained in the cafeteria during lunches.   These luminaria will be lit for the special ceremony the evening of the Relay-for-Life.   Also, don’t forget to either create or join a team for the event by going to RelayForLife.org/ParamusNJ.

Future Meetings and Events:

-          The vocal music program at PHS is holding auditions for another vocal group, the a capella group, “Shades.”  Sign-up sheets for audition times are located in room 503, and auditions are open to anyone!  Those who wish to audition should prepare a song that is modern and that shows-off the musician’s vocal range and skills.  Auditions will be held this Wednesday, the 22^nd of May after school.  Please see Mrs. Rawlings with questions.

-         Attention Juniors:  the Triple Impact Competitor Scholarship is now available through the Positive Coaching Alliance, which is a non-profit organization with the mission of transforming the culture of youth sports so that every young athlete has a positive, character-building opportunity in sports.  The scholarship is open to high school Juniors and has a deadline of May 31^st.  Please visit www.positivecoach.org for more information.

-         More for Juniors:  please remember to write a letter to your school counselor as soon as possible and place it in the box in your English class.  The information the letter contains will be used in writing your college recommendation in the near future!  Please act today!

Sports for Today:  (Weather and conditions permitting):

-         The varsity baseball team has a home game in the State Tournament against Vernon Township High School beginning at 4PM.

-         The boys’ golf team is participating in the State Tournament of Champions.

IMPORTANT REMINDER:  All students are reminded that on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, the school will be following an alternative schedule due to the End-of-Course Biology test to be administered in the morning on those days.  All students in Basic Biology, College Prep Biology and Honors Biology MUST report to school by 7:45AM to take the test both days.  All other students, including those in AP Biology, are to report at 10:40AM.  The schedule has been forwarded by Mr. Natalo for both of those days.
