These are the morning announcements, meeting dates and schedules for Friday, February 24, 2017.

Special announcement about parking: Students must park in the student parking lot only .   Students are not permitted to park in any other location.

Attention:   Today is the the biggest event of the year - “Senior Mania” .  You can buy your tickets from Seniors listed on the banner in the Commons or at the door.

Attention all students:    Today is the last day for the Model UN apparel sale.  Drop off your orders to room 218 by the end of the day today.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office are pleased to announce that applications are being accepted for the Bergen County Youth Police Academy – Class #13.The Academy is a two-week “day camp” (Monday through Friday) that is offered to qualified Bergen County young men and women either residing in Bergen County or attending secondary school in Bergen County, who will enter the 9th, 10th, 11th , or 12th grade in September 2017. Priority acceptance will be given to those students entering the 11th and 12th grades. The Academy is free of charge. This year’s Academy will begin on Monday, June 26th and run through Friday, July 7, 2017 (no camp on Tuesday, July 4th). Applications were emailed to everyone. If you have any questions, please see your counselor.

Come to our PHS Library after-school Monday, Feb. 27th, to hear Ms. Bernstein speak on teen dating violence awareness.  She will be  breaking down barriers to allow open, honest, and non-judgmental discussions about dating, healthy relationships, and abuse.  Thank you for coming out and supporting the Shelter for Help and Safety.  Light refreshments will be served.

Everyone come to the table in the Cafeteria today, February 24th and see the beautiful Crocheted necklaces. They are all homemade by the Crochet for Charity club and will benefit the Center for Help and Safety. Come by and see our selection for only $1 each.  We also have a selection of bracelets, dog, and cat items for sale.

Anyone interested in purchasing Ski Club apparel can pick up an order form hanging outside of room 410.  All orders are due by March 1st.  Any questions please see Mr. Ferrari.

Meetings:

We are having  a meeting on Tuesday,  February 28th right after school in the cafeteria.

Attention Seniors:

  • The 2017 Scholarship application packets have been distributed and all applications are due back today, February 24 th 2017.  Please drop them off to Mrs. Jay in the School Counseling office.

Looking for volunteer hours? The Harlem Wizards are returning to Paramus again this year.  The games are scheduled for Saturday, February 25 th at 2:30 pm and again at 7:30pm. Students, faculty and staff:  If you are interested in playing on the “Paramus All Star Team” for one or both games see  Ms. Gudelis in room 417.  All of the proceeds benefit The Paramus Children’s Health Foundation and The Paramus Education Foundation.  Each Paramus player plays only for a few minutes and it is a hoot.  We are hoping to recruit more PHS students as players and spectators this year so please see or email Ms. Gudelis if you are interested.  Volunteer hours will be awarded generously for this important community event.
